🎥 Police Cars Are Now Herding Cattle To Higher Grounds Near Dayton, Texas as Historic Floodwaters Continue To Rise

Hurricane Harvey has ravaged Houston, Texas and the surrounding areas. While there was some damage from the winds when the storm first blew ashore, the major issue has been flooding. The storm has stalled out over the Houston area and is just churning there, dumping several feet of rain in one concentrated area. It you haven’t seen the photos, they are absolutely heartbreaking, showing houses where nothing is visible but the roof, stoplights barely peeking over the floodwaters, and vehicles floating away in the currents.

In the video below, you can see law officers doing their best to escort a herd of cattle to higher ground to hopefully give them a better shot at surviving the storm. While this may not seem too important to some, those cows just may be the only thing that keeps the owner financially afloat after losing everything in the historic floods. The police SUV’s and a group of herding dogs work to keep the cattle bunched up and moving together toward their safer destination.

An onlooker asks one of the officers where they are being taken, and he replies simply “Higher ground”, which may become harder and harder to find in Houston. If the forecast models prove accurate, there is a great chance Harvey will move back out into the gulf of Mexico, recharge and strengthen back to hurricane status, then move right back into the same area, dumping as much as five more feet of rain on Houston.

We send our sincerest thoughts and prayers to all of our friends and loved ones in the affected area. Hopefully the weather patterns will shift and push the storm on out of the area so the floods can subside and the process of assessing the damage and rebuilding can begin. Everybody please keep Texas in your prayers and thoughts as well.
