1000HP AWD 4G63 COLT RACE READY! – Journey to 8’s!
Back in the year of 1989, the Dodge Colt was a machine that nobody really looked at for any sort of performance purpose. In fact, the platform might have been one that wasn’t really looked at in any kind of light at all and instead just seemed to blend in. It mostly was one that could be seen as a halfway decent car to save you fuel and efficiently get you around town to grab groceries and do other acts of the sort. However, if you ask Dan from That Racing Channel, he would tell you that when he saw this 1989 Dodge Colt, he had another vision in mind entirely.
The setup is pretty straightforward. With the help of an AG Auto built 4G63, Precision 7685 gen 2, Haltech tuned by Crispeed, a handy AWD conversion, and PPG Dogbox, slowly but surely, the setup has evolved to become what you see today. In its current state, the wild machine is ready to race, boasting that all-wheel-drive platform that’s incredibly light and it looks like it’s a blast to drive as the Dogbox works overtime to the point where it’s almost ready to punch its way straight into the eight-second range in a quarter mile.
Follow along in the video below that traces the steps that this machine has taken to get to where it is today. After watching this video with its impressive imagery, after getting up close and personal with this old Dodge, you might just be so inclined to have a vision of a Colt that you never even thought to be possible. When you see what this car is all about, be sure to sound off and tell us what you think of how this thing has blasted its way into the limelight and become something incredibly special that’s definitely worth the watch.
