1100HP Sequential Evo IX goes 190mph – 55psi of BOOST!

The term “sleeper” is definitely one to get thrown around a lot. While a lot of cars, rightfully so, get this title when clearly they look like drag racing machines, other times, people like to say that the term only applies to a very slim selection of cars and that something like a Mitsubishi Evo IX could absolutely never be a sleeper. We’re going to take this time to respectfully disagree with those people because this machine doesn’t speak a peep to the performance heritage that’s going on underneath the hood, but when you see it in action, you can’t help but fall in love.

Outside, the car looks like nothing more than a 2006 Evo, one that is probably pretty quick but there’s nothing that really speaks to exactly how fast it really is. There’s nothing that says the sub-300 factory horsepower been beefed up quite a bit and more than quadrupled to the point where the car is cranking out 1100 hp. From the outside, there’s also nothing to speak to that sequential transmission that sounds amazing and performs even better as the car launches down the half-mile and clicks off gears like it’s nothing, completely demanding everybody’s attention is absolutely it screams its way into every boost-filled gear.

If you follow along with the That Racing Channel video down below, you’ll be able to catch up with the machine from the mid 2000s that has been fitted with a built 2.2L and FP Super 99 turbo cranked up to 55psi that pairs nicely with the Drenth Sequential Transmission that really ties the whole package together. When you see all the parts make their way into the picture, the puzzle is completed in such a satisfying way and the result; the machine makes its way to over 190 mph at the WannaGoFast half mile. If you could’ve seen that coming just by looking at the car, we would love to give you a gold star but I don’t think that too many people have found their way to that level of detective status just yet.
