1400HP Cadillac CTS-V Dumps the Supercharger For a Massive Turbo
Whoever originally thought of the idea of the luxury performance car definitely was on to something special. One of our favorites is the Cadillac CTS-V, a car that has gone through all sorts of different iterations. These days, Cadillac doesn’t exactly create that same exact model but they still make something similar that goes by the name of the CT5-V.
In any case, no matter what it’s called, these machines can be downright awesome. No matter how spectacular the car might be out of the box, though, there’s usually somebody out there who thinks they can make it even better. This is especially true in the world of the CTS-V as many people have taken it upon themselves to modify these things.
Let’s just say that the architecture underneath is pretty darn strong. In fact, the LSA engine is one of the strongest in the series of LS power. In turn, the supercharger placed atop of this unit is also rather capable as well. Not only can these cars be seen breaking into the nines with a factory supercharger but the LSA supercharger is also a popular option to be swapped into other aftermarket applications as well.
This time, though, we check in with the Cadillac that really goes to a different level. Lots of factory components are thrown out in favor of something a little bit different as the supercharger is abandoned in favor of an 88 mm turbo. Mounted up front, that turbo looks like it’s ready to suck up all of the air in the atmosphere as it gives off a downright intimidating vibe.
How does it perform, though?
Well, down in the video below, we get to dig deeper into this car to find out exactly that. The folks from That Racing Channel get up close and personal in this one to give us the rundown of what this V has up its sleeve!
