2018 LS Fest West Overview
Holley’s second annual LS Fest West is in the books and once again, they put on a show like none other! Rolling into Vegas for the second year with a little bit of everything for any possible automotive taste, the team at Holley somehow managed to top the show they put together last year for the inaugural Western swing of the historic LS Fest.
As you can probably gather from the name of the event, the them for the event is GM’s vaunted LS engine lineup. Having hit the market all the way back in 1997 in the C5 Corvette, the LS engine has become the “swap” of choice for cars, trucks, fans, boats, planes and quite literally any other internal-combustion engine-powered use you can think of. Combining the lightweight aluminum block with great out-of-the-box performance, reasonable prices and widespread availability, the LS is the perfect platform for easy, affordable horsepower.
Don’t take our word for it, though. Check out this recap montage featuring a little bit of the LS-swapped madness that took place over the better part of a week in the glittering oasis in the American southwest.
Trophy Trucks, drift cars, autocross, burnout pits, and of course, drag racing were the flavors of the week while a massive crowd gathered at the different venues to check out all the action. If you’re into cars and you can’t find something at this event that stokes your fire, you’re probably not actually into cars, or you may be deceased.
While we are obviously partial to the drag racing portion of the event, we were absolutely blown away by the trophy trucks and the insane action they brought in the dirt all week. With prerunner-style trucks having caught on in a major way, this was a huge draw for the spectators as well, many of whom likely took what the saw and headed home to apply it to their own rides!
Go ahead and make plans now to join us for LS Fest West 2019, you do not want to miss the action that promised to only be bigger and better next time around
