2019 Corvette ZR1 Grabs $925,000 at Barrett-Jackson
When trying to pick out a price point for the latest and greatest Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, many speculated that it would probably be a car to top the six-figure range, coming in somewhere in the low hundred thousand dollar price point. That might seem kind of high for most people but when you consider how far this car has come from the days of old with other Corvettes and how exactly it stacks up, topping the ranks of cars that come in at a much more expensive price point, competing strongly in many ways, it starts to seem like that hundred thousand dollars is kind of a good deal.
This time, however, we check out a video that’s pretty heartwarming, to say the least. When this Sebring orange ZR1 rolled across the block at Barrett-Jackson, I don’t think that anybody thought that it was going to be able to grab the price that it did. While this very car is probably valued somewhere in the price range of $125,000 or so if you go to buy it from a dealership, this time, we watch the bid go up and up, skyrocketing to the point where it almost reaches out and touches $1 million, Leaving the price at $925,000 when the gavel finally strikes down and ends the bidding.
If you follow along in the video below, you’ll be able to watch the excitement of this auction that is donating all of the proceeds to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization that makes efforts toward building homes for catastrophically injured service members. It’s pretty amazing to think that somebody essentially took $800,000 out of their own pocket in order to help out others. The Corvette is a pretty awesome consolation prize but you have to applaud the person behind this bid who just gave up a good chunk of money in order to help out someone who could definitely use it.
