2020 GT500 vs Hellcat vs Ferrari vs Porsche

There’s something pretty crazy happening out there in the world of wheels these days. It’s tough to say exactly what the catalyst is. However, it really seems like the gap is closing between a lot of automakers on all axes.

For example, in the 90s and early 2000s, the Ford Mustang had a very specific niche. It wasn’t going to blow anybody away performance-wise but had enough power to be fun to drive. All of this was done and the name of bringing the car in at an accessible price point. The Mustang was and is designed to be the everyman’s pony car.

These days, it seems like the concept of trying to deliver the car at a reasonable price still rings true, in the scheme of things. Even for big brother, the Shelby GT500, which starts around $70,000, it really encompasses a lot of performance per dollar.

It’s unclear if companies like Chevrolet and Ford are just learning more or if access to technology is leveling the playing field out a bit. However, we can’t help but be excited that vehicles like the Chevrolet Corvette and Shelby GT500 are able to be compared to top-tier supercars. It’s an exciting time when performance previously only available at a massive purchase price is now within reach.

When it comes to asking price, one might be tricked to think that the Shelby might not compare to the nearly $190k Porsche GT3RS or the $300k+ Ferrari 812 Superfast. Let’s just say that the Ford might have a couple of tricks up its sleeve, though. It’s not limited to performance, either.

By following along with the video below, we get to watch as the 2020 GT500 is compared to not only these supercars. We also see how it likes to sit next to the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, as well.

It’s insane to see just how far American performance machines have come.
