2021 Bronco or 2021 Chip Foose Cherokee XJ – Foose Sketch Might Just Change Your Mind
If there’s one thing to be said about the release of the 2021 Ford Bronco, it’s that the model has surely lit a fire under the Jeep camp. For years, the Jeep Wrangler has been the only vehicle of its kind. While some sort of indirectly competes with the model, there hasn’t been very much in terms of a direct competitor. However, Ford intends to swoop in and be just that.
With that in mind, perhaps Jeep might be in need of a little bit of a kick in the rear end. Perhaps, going back to the glory days is a good way to draw inspiration for the future. With that, we look at something like the 1984 through 2001 Jeep Cherokee, better known as the XJ. The design, while simple, was one that really resonated with Jeep fans. Even to this day, these things remain popular and are still chugging along.
With the revamped Cherokee that we see on the roads today, it doesn’t really seem to be as popular. However, if there’s somebody who could bring the model back to life, it would be none other than the one and only Chop Foose. This time, a Foose design takes us inside of what exactly a modernized version of the fan-favorite might look like.
The interesting part here is that, while Foose manages to update the Jeep, he doesn’t change it all that much. Instead of giving it an entire overhaul, he simply adds in things like bumpers, flares, and bigger wheels and tires. It seems like he just appreciates the body lines of the original too much to really alter the design entirely.
By following along with the video below, we get to address an interesting concept. Do you think that this model could ever go back to its roots and have success?
