5 Things to Make Those Old Tool Cases Useful Again
Most people who have bought a new power tool have probably had the experience of pulling it out of the hard plastic case. In fact, many of us are still familiar with these cases because, for some reason, they are so hard to throw away. When we really think about it, there aren’t really that many situations where we’re going to need these cases. For most of us, they probably end up scattered around the garage. However, it’s just something that’s hard to part with for many mechanically inclined folks.
Up until now, I can’t say that I’ve personally seen any good uses for these cases outside of the occasional trip, that is, if you don’t just toss the tool in the back seat or a toolbox. The likelihood is that these cases are just collecting dust. However, with a little bit of creativity and a couple of tools, they can really be repurposed into some amazing things.
This time, we check in with an individual who seems to have a pretty good knowledge of working with his hands and just so happens to have a variety of these carrying cases. Determined to not trash them or let them continue to collect dust, the creator who goes by Aspiring Craftsman decided to get to work and use his imagination to really make these things pop.
Some of the concepts are simple and involve repurposing the case. Perhaps this might mean cutting out the liner and inserting a couple of partitions. Other times, though, the projects get a little bit more complicated as one even involves melting down a couple of these cases and turning them into a pretty awesome cutting board.
If none of these particularly strike your fancy, this video could at least serve to maybe spark a couple of ideas as to what one might be able to do with their otherwise useless carrying cases.
