5000W Motor in a 3D Printed Jet Boat

Posted by: Jesse Kleib on November 11, 2019

When we take a look at the technology available to us today, it’s rather easy to be amazed. As recently as a decade ago, things had to be shipped out. We would have to wait days if not longer, to receive our items. Today, though, there are tons of options in order to get a product quickly. Some of the more common methods might use services that will ship out an item in just a day or two. On the other hand, though, those who want something immediately might even be able to print it out at home.

Now, the 3D printing process is anything but a finished product. Instead, we have something that might be a little bit rough around the edges. Don’t worry, though, because we would argue that consumer-grade 3D printing is still somewhat in its infancy. We’re sure that years from now, it will be ironed out to the point where folks are able to print out a whole host of things from their own homes. On the other hand, it’s incredibly impressive what even the rudimentary technology behind it is able to accomplish.

This time, we follow along with the situation that has an entire remote control jet boat 3D printed from scratch. There is a lot of assembly and customization required in order to make this thing go. However, the fact that this creator was able to essentially print out the majority of the parts used and fabricate them together is nothing short of impressive.

By following along with the video below, we get a little bit of a ride-along with the journey to watch this machine come together. In turn, we get to see it in action when all is said and done. Watching something like this can prove to be an inspiration for a spark of creativity in your own workshop.
