$7 at Harbor Freight Tools helped save this man $2530
Sure, you could probably just pay the dealer to do everything for you but sometimes, jobs that are an inconvenience to them could be done simply at home and save you lots of money because as we know, dealers have been known to charge an arm and a leg for service.
Now, this isn’t necessarily a new revelation or anything. Of course you’re going to save money by doing it at home because mechanics have to charge for labor but in this case, you might just be surprised at how much money this guy was able to save for some simple work.
By heading out to the local Harbor Freight and picking up a tool or two for a grand total of just seven dollars, the DIY mechanic was able to save himself over $2000 by doing a simple repair at home, fixing up the seatbelt and SRS module after a collision would render them damaged.
Check out the video below that tells all about how this guy saved himself some money by doing the job at home. Can you think of a situation in which you saved some major dollars by keeping the work in your own garage?
