747 blowing people off the beach

The St. Marteen Internation Airport is infamous for its beachfront runway that allows curious spotters to check out airplanes at work in an up close and personal sense.

This time, however, curiosity got the best of this group of spotters as they decided that standing behind a rather large airplane that was preparing for takeoff would be the best course of action. It wasn’t.

We aren’t sure what these people thought was going to happen when the plane fired up, but they were greeted with a huge blowing gust of thrust and the result is quite similar to a bunch of leaves in the wind blowing away like it’s nothing.

You can see it all in the video below. Next time, we doubt that these folks will take such an excited approach to their spotting desires.
