8 Awesome Old Ford Pick-Up Commercials You Probably Forgot About
These commercials are just pure vintage goodness. Back in the 70’s and 80’s, truck commercials actually focused on durability and strength – and in most of the television spots, fuel economy thanks to the changing landscape of the automotive market in the early 80’s – by showing the trucks climbing cinder blocks, jumping ramps and barrel rolling, and even being dropped from several feet.
They also loaded other trucks on the bed rails of their pickups and hauled them around to drive home the point, or stacked up beds of the competitors like trophies of battle. Ford once sold semi trucks here in the States – and still does around the globe, but not here at home – and had a commercial for them as well, which you will see in this collection of eight throwback Ford Truck commercials.
From a free-fall drop to cinder block mountain, these commercials truly put Ford’s trucks through their paces, and apparently they worked well as the Ford F-150 has been the best selling truck in the US for over 30 years.
