Toyota Hiace V8 Turbo Van Means Business

For a lack of better words to describe this Toyota, we can just say that it is one bitchin’ van, powered by a small block V8 that will smoke your car!

What’s not to love about taking a vehicle with the aerodynamic properties of a garden shed and giving it the ability to run a high eight second 1/4 mile? That is exactly what Australian, Burt Willemsem, did with his third generation Toyota Hiace van.

Thanks to the addition of a turbocharged small block Chevy V8, a dry ice intercooler and a Motec fuel injection system, this former work van is now capable of an 8.9-second quarter mile.

As you can see from the video below, the world of Australian drag racing has once again managed to produce an unconventionally fast vehicle that is as weird as it is awesome. What do you think of this van?
