Autos are after all arguably more durable and most definitely more consistent. That’s why we always raise an eyebrow when we see a gnarly 6-speed car ripping down the track.

Check it out as the Toyota Supra MKIV in this video puts together a stellar run as it clocks in at 8.86-seconds in the quarter mile. Supras are known for being nasty up top as is this one, but on these passes the car gets it done all across the board.

“How does one get a 6-speed Supra in the 8s?” you may ask. In this case, power is produced by a forged 2JZ 3.0L engine, Garrett GT47 88mm turbo and MoTeC EFI system running on E85. The car broke the 6-speed gearbox just two days prior but recovered nicely to knock out this killer pass.
