NEAR CRASH – Mclaren P1 GTR Spins Out at Laguna Seca Corkscrew
Being behind the wheel of a McLaren P1 is a lot of responsibility, let alone a P1 GTR fitted for racing that clocks in with a price tag nearing $3-million, nearly double that of a traditional P1.
However, as it is a racecar built to handle whatever track conditions you’re ready to throw at it, the car should be driven as such, much like we see in the video below.
While checking out one of the first McLaren GTR private track days at Laguna Seca, this spectator watches as this P1, piloted by a professional driver, nearly takes a bite of the wall.
Our hearts start to beat faster as the car comes in hot, taking a corner too fast and coming entirely too close for comfort. Somehow, he was able to keep the car in one piece.
Check out the video below as this driver pushes the GTR past its cornering abilities and provides a moment that was caught on film that he will not soon forget.
