New Truck Tug of War Battle – Ecoboost vs Ecodiesel

There are fewer ways to establish dominance in the four wheel drive world than a good old fashioned tug of war, and that’s exactly what this pair of pickup owners decided to do!

On the left, a new Ford F150 with the Ecoboost powerplant. On the right, a Dodge Ram with its 3.0L EcoDiesel. Despite the similarities in the names, the engines are really not that similar, with Ford’s engine being a gas burner while the Dodge engine is obviously a diesel, the only one available in a half-ton pickup. When they drop into 4 wheel drive and pull the rope tight, the diesel puts in work and drags the Ford almost effortlessly behind it.

Does this mean diesel is better than gas? Well we aren’t ready to declare that just yet, but in this case, it certainly won the day.
