Budget Built Turbo LS Blazer Creeps in on 9s!
If you want something to be reliable and fast without spending a whole bunch of money, then we’d like to welcome you to the debate that every car enthusiast has with themselves when building an engine. At some point, you’re going to have to sacrifice one of these three factors but you can still have lots of fun on a budget in the meantime.
This time, we make a trip out to Cecil Cecil County Dragway with the help of the BigKleib34 YouTube channel to check out a Chevrolet Blazer that’s turning heads with just a little bit of wrenching and a list of budget parts. You even hear the owner claiming that the wheel and tire setup cost more than any other component that he has on the SUV!

With an otherwise stock truck motor, a turbo, and a 4L80e transmission, this Blazer is able to spool its way down the quarter mile in just over 10 seconds, clocking in with several low 10-second passes before calling it quits for the day.
Check out the video down below that shows the quest for that nine that will continue for a little while longer. I’m sure that with a little bit of tweaking and some good air, it won’t be long before this old Chevy finds its way into the single digit range all without spending a ton of money. Sure, those high dollar builds might have their cool factor but there’s just something special about a junkyard setup built in someone’s garage that really makes you take a second look.
