Street Outlaws Chuck vs Tony Bynes in the Choppa! Grudge Race!
When they aren’t filming, the 405’s Top 10 hit the roads weekend after weekend, making appearances all across the nation. Some of them, like Doc and Monza, like to pair up and run together, and some of them head out on their own and make exhibition passes and line up some head-to-head grudge races. Last weekend, OKC’s current #1 man Chuck headed east to North Myrtle Beach Dragstrip with the Death Trap in tow to see what kind of race he could rustle up.
Luckily for the crowd on hand, he ran into a grudge legend Tony “Boss” Bynes in his nitrous breathing Camaro know throughout the southeast as Choppa. Bynes is known for lining up with anybody and finding a way to win, so the buzz about this race spread quickly across social media as Chuck and Tony, both known for their smack talk expertise as much as their driving prowess, worked out the details of the race.
When time came to throw down, the cars hit the track and laid down a pair of long, smoky burnouts to put some fresh rubber down on the track. They bumped carefully into the staging beams, then waited on the green light to drop. When the green flashed, both cars launched hard into the fading South Carolina afternoon, but only one of them would hit the finish line under power. Shortly after launching, as Chuck pulled out to a small lead, Choppa made a move toward the centerline and Bynes was forced to lift, leaving him helpless to do anything but watch as Chuck streaked to the stripe.
It’s hard to say if Boss would have even able to reel in the boosted small block-powered Death Trap, but he certainly didn’t want to take an L without making an A-to-B pass. There’s a real good chance these two will line up again in the future, as Bynes does not take losses lying down.
