Home Built NITROUS Rat-Rod is Out of This World!
Among all of the cars that you’ll see out there in the gearhead community, rat rods are perhaps the most interesting variety depending on who you ask. You see, whether be at the drag strip or a local car show, a lot of times, these cars take on some interesting mechanics to put everything together and offer up one cohesive finished piece.
In this one, the guys over at 1320Video take us on the scene to a heads-up no prep race that features a home built rat rod that has a little bit of nitrous thrown into the equation to make things a little bit more interesting. The guys say that they haven’t had too much test time with the machine so I guess this is kind of just throwing it to the wolves to see how it does in competition.
Fitted with a full tube chassis, small block Chevrolet, Powerglide transmission, and a 9-inch rear end, this rat does its fair share of competing in both the street tire and drag radial class. It isn’t necessarily able to take an overall victory in either of the classes but watching go down the strip is a true treat, to say the least.
Check out the video down below that takes us on location to dive inside of this unique build to watch it in action. Be sure to tell us what you think of this rat rod as it makes its presence felt out there in a couple of shakedown passes that are probably giving these guys some valuable information to get this thing better dialed in.
