The Best Sounding R34 Shttp://speedsociety.com/the-best-sounding-r34-skyline-ever-sick-launch/kyline Ever? Sick Launch!
Okay, so maybe this isn’t the best sounding Skyline launch EVER, but as far as fairly stock R34’s launching on the street, this thing sounds totally badass, and we could sit and watch it launch over and over. Besides sounding great, this Skyline also looks amazing, the stark white body panels sitting perfectly atop the black wheels. This R34 actually sounds fairly tame when it first rolls up in front of the cameras, but as soon as the throttle goes to the floor and the turbo begins to spool… WOW!
It sounds as if the driver deactivated launch control, allowing the car to spin the tires when the driver launches, and holy cow does the RB26 sound wicked when it’s screaming at wide open throttle while the tires fight for traction. We are still a few years away from the R34 being available in the States, at least legally, but we are certainly ready to get our hands on one as soon as it’s legal to do so. These cars are legendary for their performance and stunning good looks, all of which make for a healthy aftermarket, although it is aimed toward the Japanese, where the car isn’t quite the rarity it is here in the US.
This car is the predecessor to the Nissan GT-R, and it is obvious they share a lot of DNA. From the powerful turbocharged engines to the AWD system, both are well established giants in the industry and have built massive, cult-like followings around the globe. With the earlier R34 getting closer to the twenty-five year old mark, which is when they will be legal for US import, there are already waiting lists for the first few thousand units that are brought over from Japan. We can’t wait for the day we start seeing R34’s on the streets around the US!
