Why Are These ATVs Being Crushed?
Here in America, we tend to be quite wasteful and that wastefulness doesn’t only get limited to individuals. It just so happens that organizations, even government organizations like the police waste more than their fair share of resources. In this one, we check out a situation, that, right or wrong, is downright wasteful!
You would think that, after apprehending people who are breaking the law and seizing their property, that the police would then go and auction off some of this property for the benefit of the greater good. However, after plucking out a few choice machines that might help out with public service, they decided to take the rest of them and crush them. The idea here is the keep these machines off of the streets but, in reality, these ATVs were never built for the streets in the first place and we can’t think that they should be treated as such.
However, on the flip side of the coin, you could see how, if they were making a profit off of said machines, how that could stir up a controversy and provide an incentive to grab more of them. At the end of the day, I guess that the decision isn’t ours to make and we aren’t in possession of these machines but, it really makes you think twice about how exactly things like this are handled. There HAS to be a better way to deal with it than one of the polar opposites brought up here.
Follow along in the video down below that shows you the police crushing these off-road vehicles because of their illegal use. After you hear the reasoning for getting rid of them and not reselling them, be sure to chime in what you think on this matter. Do you think that they should sell them and use the money for something better in the community (perhaps some sort of charity), keeping these machines alive, or do you think that they are right in crushing them to try and keep them off of the streets?
