Ever wondered what happens when you run a smallblock 350 with no oil
When we’re talking about what’s under your hood, all of the parts need to come together in just the right way to function at their highest ability. There are lots of things to think about with this concoction, however, one thing that is commonly overlooked is the type of fluids that go into it. This is also one of the most important considerations! Sometimes, people are picky about what fluids are going inot their engines and other times, people don’t even bother to change said fluids at all. This time, we check out what happens when the fluid is ditched altogether in an engine that is running wide open with no oil at all.
That’s right, the small block pictured here is running completely dry, a combination that is bound to get a little bit volatile. You never know what’s going to happen in a situation like this, but when the heat starts to build, you know that one thing is for sure, things are about to get a little bit crazy. You can’t really tell from the get-go how this one is going to end but you know that carnage is on its way in as suspense just keeps on building to see exactly how this thing is going to go down in a blaze of glory. Even though it’s probably an engine that was beyond its useful life span, you can’t help but cringe a little bit at watching this thing revved to the moon with no oil.
Check out the video down below that takes you on the scene in the engine dyno room as this machine really is pushed to the limit and ends up chucking some parts out the side. What do you think of how long this engine was (or wasn’t) able to last and the resulting destruction that came from the abuse?
