Underground Racing DCT Lamborghini Huracan 233 mph standing half mile
Underground Racing has broken yet another barrier in the standing half mile world, this time eclipsing the 230 MPH mark with its DCT Huracan. The car, owned by Drag965 owner Mohammad, blitzed the record books at the Shift Sector Airstrip Attack in Marion, Indiana.
The Huracan features UGR’s latest clutch design, which managed to hold the 2,200 horsepower from the twin turbocharged engine and maintain near-stock drivability, a truly spectacular accomplishment given the insane amount of power on tap. The progression in clutch technology has allowed the UGR team to keep the same transmission in the car since they first started competing with this car without a single transmission failure. While it’s been a challenge, the team at UGR is proud to be on the forefront of this drivetrain technology.
“This is one of our favorite current projects as it’s been very challenging to perfect the clutch setup to allow it to hold 2,200 whp and maintain the smooth stock drive ability. I want to also add that this is the same transmission we have used since we started competing with this Huracan and with zero failures. This newest clutch setup held all the power we threw at it with ease.” said the famed tuner via it’s Facebook page.
Continuing, UGR adds, “We are very proud of what we have accomplished with our DCT Lamborghini and Audi R8s. Especially with the number of competitors that have vigorously been attempting to take down the Lamborghini DCT records we hold. We were the first with the Lamborghini DCT to break into the 200, 210, 220 and now 230 MPH barrier in the standing half mile. We look forward to continuing to see how far we can go with this platform.”
Speed Society has been a fan and customer of UGR for quite some time and we’re always proud to see them continue to push the boundaries. Keep it up and you guys will be cranking out 250 MPH in the half mile!
