Want to Drive the Skidtruck? Now You Can in Torque Burnout!
Last year, we followed Farmtruck and AZN as they journeyed to Australia for the Summernats, where they fell in love with pretty much everything, from the cars to the culture to the people. Committing to come back for this years Summernats, Team FNA decided to join in the fun beyond spectating, opting to get in on the fun by competing in the world famous Summernats burnout contest.

Instead of crating up the OG Farmtruck and shipping it from Oklahoma to Canberra, the guys opted to have Canberra Institute of Technology students and staff work together to build a doppelgänger right there in the Land Down Under. The new Farmtruck, which featured many of the OG pickup’s styling cures and idiosyncrasies, it’s a completely different truck, especially under the hood. The truck we see on Street Outlaws out fishing for potential victims is powered by a nitrous huffing big block. Although it’s not a max effort, balls-to-the-wall powerplant, it’s not exactly an engine you want to put on the rev limiter for several minutes while shredding the rear tires in the burnout pits at the Summernationals. Instead, the team opted for a tamer LS based engine that makes quite a bit less power, but should be up to the task of destroying the tires on the truck while screaming at redline for minutes on end.
To cap off the awesomeness of the experience, the Torque Burnout game decided to include the Skidtruck in the selectable lineup of cars you can choose to hit the pit in the virtual world. There are a few measures of “Made it” in the world and being included in any kind of video games would certainly qualify as an indicator that Farmtruck and AZN have made it. Now I just have to get the app downloaded so I can take my turn behind the wheel of the Skidtruck and see what it’s like to put the pedal to the metal and sling some rubber in the most famous pickup truck in the world.
