How fast is the Gutted Tesla P100D 0-60 MPH!?
When Tesla burst on the scene with their electric creations that would take the drag racing world by storm, I don’t think that there were too many people who knew how to take it at first. Sure I mean the concepts do make sense as electric motors provide constant torque and a lot of it but when actually seeing an electric car in motion, the machines that we’d become used to seeing were these economy boxes that weren’t really too fashionable to drive around in. Tesla brought that world to a more luxurious and fast form, really making a lot of people shift the way that they thought about how electric vehicles work.
If there’s one group of people who have taken this performance and managed to stretch it out, you can look to the Tesla Racing Channel to be your source for modification and pushing these things, really taking the machines to the max. It’s incredible to see exactly what they do as they grab hold of the electric cars and really find ways to make them faster, one of the most eye-popping additions that they have been known for is taking all of the weight out, completely stripping them down to their core to subtract from one part of the important factors in racing, which is weight.
If you follow along down in the video below, you’ll watch as the Tesla Racing Channel got their hands on their Tesla P100D and pulled absolutely everything out of it before testing it out to see how fast they can reach 0 to 60. The times ended up being rather impressive and you can see just how fast these things go as the video gives us a good perspective. Just to give you an idea of some of the cars with a similar 0 to 60 time, we’re talking in the class of cars like the Bugatti Veyron and Dodge Demon, here! Yeah, the electric cars are really that impressive.
