YouTuber Takes Delivery Of The First 2019 ZR1 Corvette!
YouTuber Street Speed 717 just took delivery of his 2019 Corvette ZR1, one of the most anticipated new rides of the year. When the news first broke about the ZR1, there was a huge amount of buzz and rumors about what the car would and wouldn’t be. However, Chevrolet didn’t make us wait too long to find out the stats on the car, and they’re nothing short of staggering.
With 755 horsepower and 715 ft/lbs of torque on tap, the car has more than enough power to outrun nearly anything else on the road, including laying down a faster lap than the venerable Ford GT at Virginia International Raceway, a feat that few saw coming that proves the ZR1 is legitimately a beast through the curves.
So what goes into getting a car like the ZR1 ready for delivery to its new owner? Thanks to Street Speed 717’s very detail-oriented video, we get a great close-up look at the whole process from installing the rear wing to the front splitter and all of the extra bits and pieces in between.
He spends plenty of time just looking the car over, with camera in hand of course, giving us some great views of the Sebring Orange 7-speed manual – currently the only manual trans-optioned ZR1 in existence – so we can really see the the car’s angles and body lines. It is exactly what we’d expect of the most powerful factory Corvette, angular and swoopy with a wicked hood bulge to contain the massive supercharged powerplant.
I’m not going to lie, I’m not a huge fan of the factory wheel design. I just feel like the split-5 spoke design doesn’t work well with the car’s overall look and would rather see something similar to the previous ZR1’s rolling stock. However, wheels are easy enough to swap and the rest of the car is really great looking from all angles. Hopefully we will have a chance to see one of these in person soon to get a first-person look so we can really see how good it looks up close and personal.
