Meet The New Silverado Trail Boss And RST!
As performance enthusiasts, there is one that never-ending saga that goes on with the industry. Obviously, the goal of automakers is to make money, at the end of the day. Therefore, they want to produce vehicles that are going to appeal to the most people possible. Unfortunately for performance nuts, it turns out that most of the time, these vehicles are rather boring. Our newsfeeds might determine that all of our friends are gearheads but the rest of the world might not agree. In fact, when it comes to pickup trucks, it seems like the market has become disinterested in creating rides that appeal to our adventurous side.
Today, it really seems like the Ford Raptor is probably an enthusiast’s best bet of being able to procure an adrenaline rush while behind the wheel of a factory pickup. However, Chevrolet seems to want to throw their hat in the ring, to an extent. They’re trying something a bit different with the new model that’s pushing the off-road adventure. This model will don the name of “Trail Boss”. With the package, we see a couple of upgrades added to appeal to the off-road adventurer in us all. Only time will tell, though, if the market accepts the truck in the same way that it does the Raptor.
In the video below, we get a taste of the truck that’s hooked up with the new features. It all comes straight from the factory! From what we’ve been told, those who purchase the trail boss can expect a two-inch lift with aggressive 18-inch wheels featuring Goodyear Duratrac tires. To make things more fun off of the beaten path, the model adds skid plates, a locking rear differential, a two-speed transfer case, and Rancho shock absorbers.
Is the juice worth the squeeze with this beefy Chevy full-size?
