Wild Mercedes-Benz 6×6 Concept Would Make the ULTIMATE Christmas Gift
For those looking to make a statement, boy have we found the concept for you. Carlex Design is launching a beast for the ages via their Pickup Design division. Based off of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class, the “Exy Monster X Concept” really reaches for the stars. For our readers in America, the X-Class is Benz’s version of a light-duty pickup truck. Think Toyota Tacoma with a little more class.
For now, unfortunately, the vehicle is nothing more than a concept. There is no physical version available just yet. However, if they’re able to deliver even a portion of what they’re promising, the truck should be something really special. The specs on this bad boy are something to brace ourselves for.
First and foremost, the obvious states that the pickup truck has been stretched out and given an additional axle. Moving all of that extra equipment is going to take some power. We’re not sure if there will be an upgrade over the truck’s existing 3.0L turbodiesel V6 yet or not. The current application is capable of 258 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque.
With every last body panel boasting carbon fiber, this one should be as functional as it is fun to look at. Furthermore, we find a widened body, bigger wheels, and a bright yellow painted bed. The bed is coated in what the brand claims is “protective, structural paint.”
To top it all off, we’re promised carbon ceramic brakes and a dropped ride height. For getting out of tough spots, the truck will have a winch on each end. The truck also features a host of cosmetic enhancements not featured on a traditional X-Class. From lighting to an aggressive hood scoop, this thing looks ready to roll with fury.
We’re not sure if this thing is going to be a utilitarian beast or just fun to look at. All that we know is that after checking the concept out, we can’t help but anxiously await its presence. The truck certainly throws something different in the pool of the market’s current 6×6 offerings.
