Brand New, Never Sold 1987 Buick GNX With 202 Miles Could Find It’s Forever Home On Monday… With A Staggering Price Tag
The 1987 Buick GNX is an icon of the 1980s, and the king of the G-body, with a Turbocharged 6 Cylinder. These cars boasted what was believed to be 276 Horsepower and 350 lb-feet of torque, but the 12.7 second quarter mile times tell us they likely had a bit more power than the factory claimed. These cars are extremely collectible as Buick only produced 547 of the GNX.
This particular GNX has a whopping 202 miles on it, has never been sold, and once appeared on Jay Leno’s new TV Show “Jay Leno’s Garage”
The dealer Boulevard Buick couldn’t get anyone to bite on the insane markup these cars had way back in the 1980’s so they took the smarter route and waited for the ultra-rare classic to appreciate in value. Which seemingly has turned out to be the right call as the original asking price was just under $30,000 (A lot of money in 1987) but has a current high bid of $150,000. The last GNX we seen sold with low miles was an 8-mile survivor car that sold for $200,000.
This tells us the bidding may not be over yet, even though it’s scheduled to end on Monday.
