Could Indestructible Nokia Phones Work as Brake Pads?
We have a question for you. How many experiments do you think exist strictly because of YouTube?
When we think about it, there are probably thousands of videos that were inspired just because the platform exists. I’m not sure that there are very many people who would’ve considered how well cell phones would work as brake pads before YouTube. However, because the temptation to go viral is so real, all sorts of wacky constructs have come about.
This time, we see what happens when a meme meets a wild YouTube idea. As phones have developed into more complex computer systems, an ongoing joke has been going around about the phones of old. As the joke is told, old school Nokia phones are supposed to be pretty much bulletproof. In fact, legend has it that if you drop one of these phones on the sidewalk, it will be fine and the sidewalk will crack.
With this kooky YouTube idea, we watch what happens when a couple of Nokia cellphones are used in lieu of brake pads. This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen something like this attempted. In fact, in this video, we watch as somebody uses iPhones as brake pads.
Obviously, something like this could never work out practically. However, once we know that it exists, we can’t simply look away. Our curiosity gets the best of us to see how well the cell phone would do as a brake pad. Why? We couldn’t possibly tell you. However, we couldn’t resist digging into the experiment to see what would happen next.
If you’re curious as well, and, we know you are if you made it this far, check out the video from Life OD below. We wouldn’t recommend trying this one out at home. It’s fun to watch somebody else go through the trouble of trying this one out, though.
