An Impact Driver is NO GOOD Without a Good Bit – Comparison Shows Which Company Makes the Best
If you’re nerds like us, you might spend your time sitting around and watching tool comparison videos. For those who have worked in a garage, they can certainly understand why. Most who have been wrenching for any substantial amount of time has likely worked with all sorts of different brands of tools.
Most wrenchs have likely formed an alliance with a favorite brand. On the other hand, they might be a little bit biased against others. After one too many poor interactions with a certain brand, that brand might not even make its way back to your toolbox again.
This time, however, we’re going to put opinions aside and head straight to the data. Getting a reliable impact driver can be important. It seems like some have forgotten that the accessories to go alongside the driver can be just as important, though. Anything else is like building a weak house on a strong foundation. It still doesn’t make much sense.
There is no room for opinion here as each brand of impact driver bit is going to be paired to a torque meter alongside a series of other tests. As usual, the Project Farm YouTube channel does a good job of thoroughly testing the bits and explaining their methods. It’s all about the facts and data! Each unit will then be worked until failure. It’s interesting to see just how the marketing holds up here. Are those that promise a premium product actually able to live up to their word?
While many bits will give in after years of abuse, this kind of test still gives us some helpful insight. Even though someone’s not likely to break something like this right out of the box, this could still speak to the initial quality of some of these brands. These tests might even lead someone to make a conclusion about longterm longevity, as well.
After this test, did your opinion change on your favorite brand of tool?
