Going Over Car Design Trends That Just Need to Stop
Sometimes, you just have to try something to see how it works out. Surely, when automotive manufacturers want to put a new feature in place, they have all sorts of research dedicated to seeing how well it might pan out. However, until these features end up in the hands of the public, nobody can truly tell how they will survive.
Over the years, we have seen different features come and go. Some manage to stay around longer than others. Meanwhile, we think that others shouldn’t stick around at all. Sometimes, these features end up crashing and burning to a timely death but other times, these gaudy features might stick around.
This time, we head to the Edmunds YouTube channel to check out a video that addresses just that concept. For example, I think a lot of us in the performance community can agree that something like fake exhaust tips might be a little bit tacky.
However, most average customers aren’t going to pick up on something like this. It might even help a manufacturer sell a car, at the end day.
By following along with the video below, we dive into everything from fake air vents to analog clocks. Sometimes, features don’t have any sort of rhyme or reason. Other times, though, perhaps some of these luxury items are put in place in order to conjure up an excessively expensive price tag. No matter what the reason behind these options, though, this video seems to insist that they’ve just got to go.
I guess that we all have our favorites and our pet peeves. What do you see happening across the automotive landscape that you think should just stop ASAP?
