STOLEN: Reward Offered For NASCAR Stock Car Stolen From Cracker Barrel Parking Lot

I’m certainly no career criminal. However, I would be inclined to think that it would probably be in a criminal’s best interest to try and steal something that isn’t high profile. After all, at the end of the day, their main goal is going to be to get rid of it as quickly as possible for as much money as possible. Everyone knows that.

Trying to turn over something that’s one of a kind or very recognizable is a good way to get caught.

As it turns out, a criminal in Kingsland, Georgia decided to steal something that wasn’t exactly subtle. As the thief made his way out of the Cracker Barrel parking lot in a Ford F-350 with a trailer attached, the cargo was something that will probably be almost impossible to sell.

With that, if we were to wager a guess, we’d probably expect to find the cargo abandoned within the next couple of days. However, the hunt is still on.

Inside of the trailer would be the stock car belonging to the Mike Harmon racing team. The team was said to have been on their way back to North Carolina from the Xfinity Series race in Daytona this past weekend. Surveillance video shows the 2000 F-350 and trailer leaving the parking lot after the crook busted into the ignition.

The truck and trailer then pull on I-95 south toward Florida before making off into the night.

Onboard, we find the number 47 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Kyle Weatherman. The car displays “We stand for the National Anthem” on the hood. According to the police report, between the car and the equipment on board, the total value of goods stolen is about $400,000.

Harmon is offering $5000 in exchange for information that might lead to the recovery of the stolen equipment and race car. He does say that some of the items onboard are equipped with tracking devices so we’re sure that the team is looking into locating their equipment as we speak.

As far as racing, we have been told that the team plans to surge on. Harmon says they do have other cars that aren’t exactly 100% ready for competition. However, if they have to make do with some of the backup vehicles then that’s exactly what they’re going to proceed with.
