I think that in the future, we will look back on 2020 as a year where a lot of ideas shifted toward something new. Some of these ideas are better while others feel far worse. However, it seems as if the year will be pivotal, in one way or another, in relation to the future of the world.
One of the trends that has risen in 2020 is that of the electric vehicle. Those paying close attention will tell you that the electric vehicle isn’t necessarily new for this year. However, it certainly appears to have been around this time where it has really exploded. After all, Tesla, an exclusively-electric vehicle manufacturer managed to become the most valuable automotive manufacturer in the world this year.
With that, the hype around electric vehicles seems to be pretty high. As the vehicles have made their way past a novelty and into something that could stick around for the foreseeable future and potentially even retool transportation as we know it, there has definitely been a lot of talk surrounding the segment. Surprisingly, the vast majority of opinions on electric vehicles are relatively positive. Aside from a few gear heads like myself who get a big kick out of the feeling of a combustion engine, a variety of folks seem to think that the electric vehicle is far and wide the smarter choice for daily driving as we move toward the future.
This time, though, we check out the opposite side of that coin. While electric vehicles are making a strong push into the driveways of many folks around the world, there is an inverse argument against them. We aren’t necessarily sure if our host over at Engineering Explained necessarily thinks that electric vehicles are bad. In this particular video, though, he lays out the argument against them.
