Everything We Know About Jeep’s New V8 Powered Performance Wrangler
Over the years, the Jeep Wrangler has really found a way to shoehorn its way into the status of Americana royalty. Not only has the model become incredibly popular, maintaining that popularity over the years, it has also figured out a way to fit into pop culture somewhere along the way.
Buying a Jeep has evolved beyond the experience of just buying another vehicle. Instead, the brand brings the promise of buying something that will welcome drivers to their very own exclusive club. When it comes to creating a lifestyle brand, it’s something that we hear thrown around the marketing community a lot. It’s definitely something that’s claimed more than it’s executed but we would argue that Jeep is probably one of those brands that really hits the lifestyle brand mark on a high-level.
With that, it stands to reason that they’ve gotten comfortable. With new competition from the likes of the Ford Bronco, perhaps Jeep is looking to innovate upon that strong foundation that the model has built.
The one thing that seems to have been missing from an otherwise spectacular run so far for the Wrangler is the option for something with a lot of horsepower. The Wrangler, over the years, has done a lot of things well. Offering a high horsepower V8 isn’t one of those things, though. All of that is about to change with the most recent model that has been announced by the brand.
Just a couple of days ago, Jeep pulled the covers off of their Wrangler 392. Under the hood, we find an abundance of displacement and a promise for a Hemi powered Wrangler that will blast its way past the competition, past, present, or future.
It’s not really apparent if this is in response to the new competition with the Bronco or if Jeep had this up its sleeve all along. However, it’ll be interesting to see what happens when the light off-road platform is finally paired with a potent power maker under the hood.
