A LiPo battery Inferno Destroyed This Man’s Entire RC Car Collection
For those on the outside of the hobby, you might not realize it, but building a remote control collection really is a pastime that can rack up the dollar signs. Not only are the vehicles themselves expensive, but all of the custom components that go along with them can drain the bank account as well.
This time, we follow along with the sad story of a man named Rey as he left his LiPo battery charging and unattended for just a short period of time and before he knew it, his entire collection would be engulfed in flames, leaving him helpless to save it from the fire.
From what we’ve gathered from this video, a LiPo setup can be rather volatile as it produces an immense amount of heat when charging and if you’re not careful, this heat can lead to fires like this one. At the end of the day, safety products are in place to prevent situations like this and Rey does have them but it only took a single occurrence of not using these precautions to make his collection go down.
In the video below, we check out the aftermath of the collection that was completely taken over by heat and torn apart. With multiple large-scale RCs and a couple of costly Baja and drifting machines, we would venture to think that thousands could have been lost here.
