A turbocharged powerplant makes this Volvo the ultimate in trolling
The Ford Mustang. The Chevrolet Corvette. The Nissan GT-R.
These three cars are among the group that you would look at and not be surprised to hear that they’re pretty darn quick if somebody told you so.
However, when you take one look at a Volvo station wagon in just about any capacity, we aren’t sure that there are very many factors that can make you think it’s good for more than picking up your monthly order of groceries… That’s exactly what they want you to think.
This time, the action is happening at Holley LS Fest as this LS swapped Volvo brings the pain. Of all of the possible swaps, it’s no surprise to hear that a stock bottom end 5.3L Chevy truck motor is under the hood, but we still think that this thing has plenty of cool factor and some pep in its step, especially considering the slug that the motor was probably replacing.
When you throw a Borg Warner turbo and a 4L80 automatic transmission into the mix, things get really saucy on the drag strip and the results are so much fun to watch.
When we check out the passes featured in the BigKleib34 video below, we like what we see, however, we think that this relatively new setup has a lot of untapped potential to go.
With those trap speeds topping 130 mph, we wouldn’t be shocked to see the Volvo in the 10-second range soon, maybe even 9s!
