Abandoned ’78 Trans Am Driven From Grave After 10 Years

Don’t get us wrong, watching muscle cars rot into the ground is certainly a sad sight. However, there’s something about finding these old cars that gets us rather excited. It’s a kind of modern-day treasure hunt to try and find the most awesome machines that could use some love.

Once they’re discovered, our curiosity gets the best of us. We’re left to poke around the car to see if there’s enough there to get it going again. First, the person who’s looking at a potential project car is probably going to seek out the rust. After all, mother nature tends to turn metal into dust after enough time sitting. If enough of the metal is gone, some of these cars just aren’t going to be worth bringing back to life again.

However, if enough meat remains, it’s time to start checking out other things. From there, it would seem as if figuring out if the engine can run is the next course of action. After sitting for so long, lots of these engines are going to need some care in order to get going once again. It might take some fluids and a little bit of tweaking to get them fired up. Many times, though, to our surprise, an engine can be brought back to life with a little bit of tinkering.

This thing was certainly a cool car in its day. However, after sitting for a decade, it’s going to need a little bit of love. After getting that TLC, eventually, it’s able to fire up. The process is so addicting that we can’t pass this gem up!
