After Getting a Truck Stolen, YouTuber Stumbles Upon Ultimate Gadget to Prevent it Next Time

These days, there are a lot of awesome features onboard cars that make them incredibly convenient. In fact, these features are so convenient that folks are willing to pull money out of their pockets and pay more to have them. With the integration of technology that we find in our vehicles these days, it’s kind of wild to think about just how far things have come.

As we were rounding the corner of the 90s and into the 2000s, keyless entry was something that was a luxury that you had to pay for. These days, pretty much every car is going to come with this option. In fact, the convenience has gone even further as keyless entry has been replaced with a proximity fob. In other words, your key fob is now equipped with the ability to simply open the door when it’s within range of the car. Therefore, you don’t have to bother pushing any buttons but instead, just have to walk close to the vehicle with the key.

While this technology is awesome, there are some people with bad intentions out there who are also looking to make the most of your new purchase. As our creator, GP Outdoors, points out, the key fob that allows for this sort of door unlocking is constantly sending out a signal. No matter what, your key is looking for your vehicle if you have a proximity fob.

Unfortunately, criminals have made the most out of this, designing computers that are able to pick up that signal and amplify it. Therefore, the key doesn’t need to be right next to the vehicle in order to open it but instead, this equipment can allow for such a process to happen from up to 300 feet away.

Down in the video below, we check in with a simple yet impactful invention that could prevent you from walking out in your driveway to find an empty spot where your new car or used to be.
