Alex Laughlin 1ST VLOG EVER! Indy Nats 2020 – Blew the motor!? | RACE DAY
COVID-19 has really thrown a wrench in just about everything. From the way that we race all the way down to simple things like the way that we get food for ourselves. Needless to say, we’ve been going through a period in time that’s like no other and it’s hard to say how it’ll steer our future.
While we initially reacted to the outbreak with complete lockdown, things have been slowly returning back to normal once again. These are definitely baby steps but it’s better than nothing!
This time, we check in with Speed Society’s own Alex Laughlin as he takes us through what an NHRA race is looking like these days. Prior to the pandemic, the event was a thrill, packed with endless action and more fans that one could count. These days, the action is there but the fans haven’t exactly been able to pack the place just yet.
In his first-ever vlog video, Laughlin shows us his first day driving his car since Corona. Just about every aspect of what he’s doing on race weekend has been switched up.
It starts with testing in an empty track that would normally be full of fans which evolves to qualifying and eventually chasing down things that can be improved on. Every step of the race weekend is learning and improving the experience with some weekends going more smoothly than others. Let’s just say that it’s not as simple as hopping behind the wheel and ripping open the throttle.
By following long in the video below, we check in with the Pro Stock competition a recent race weekend at the 2020 Indianapolis Nationals. Watch as he gets back into the swing of things after the long break from drag racing with his team! I think we’re all ready to get back into the swing of racing once again!
