If there’s one thing that we definitely know about the automotive industry, it’s that those designing the vehicles are always trying to stay on the cutting edge. As this industry is very cutthroat and competitive, every automaker wants to do that one special thing that’s going to help them sell just a couple of more cars. If they do things right, they might even end up blowing the competition out of the water.

In terms of how this competition is manifested in the real world, sometimes, we get to see some pretty interesting advancements. These days, it seems like the advancements are getting bigger and more technologically involved. Back in the day, though, we think that automakers got a little bit crafty with how exactly they put together their vehicles, and sometimes it made enthusiasts incredibly excited. Let’s just say that certain models had hidden party tricks if you will, that really were innovative and crafty.

Just because the cars of the 60s and 70s don’t have touch screens all over the place isn’t to say that they weren’t advance for the time. This time, we check out cars that were made between 1963 and 1972 from the lens of observing the different nuances that make most unique.

Sure, some things like hidden second door handles or cornering lights might seem like something that could be easily done these days. Back in the 60s and 70s, though, they were certainly way ahead of their time. Some of these innovations definitely seem like helpful tidbits that could even be used in cars today!
