Antron Brown resets his own track record in Englishtown
The NHRA tour has moved to is final venue in the great Northeast for this weekend’s Summernationals, held annually at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. Don Schumacher Racing’s very own Antron Brown, who lives just thirty miles away from Old Bridge Township, rolls into Sunday’s eliminations as the #1 qualifier and is looking to take home his fourth win at his home track, one of which was in Top Fuel in 2015.
Three-time series champion Brown is looking to close the gap on DSR teammate and Speed Society Racing driver Leah Pritchett, who has used three event wins and consistent late round finishes to carry her points lead into Englishtown. Brown made up some ground in qualifying, earning ten more points than Pritchett, who enters eliminations from the ninth spot on the ladder, but still trails Leah by 24 points. Pritchett, driving her special edition Dodge Demon-sponsored ride for the second and final week, will face off with the third DSR car, the US Army car driven by Tony Schumacher, in the first round.
Eliminations from Englishtown are just getting underway. You can follow the action throughout the day on NHRA’s website or catch it all when it airs on Fox this evening.
