Badass Angle… NASCAR Tire Changer Kyle Symington POV
GoPros and other wearable action cameras have revolutionized the way we see action, giving us a literal first-person perspective of all kinds of jobs and activities that has never been possible before.
In this clip, we are riding with NASCAR Nationwide series pit crew member Kyle Symington as he runs through a pit stop with his fellow crewmen at Iowa Speedway. The driver at the time was Reed Sorenson, wheeling the Swisher Camaro into the pit stall for a full four tire stop. We get a close up look at how quickly Kyle spins off the lugs, waits for his carrier to pull off the old tire and slide on the new one, then zips the lugs back on in a matter of seconds. They then swap sides and do it again on the drivers side before Sorenson speeds away. While 19 seconds isn’t a record breaking pit stop, you have to consider that these guys swapped all four tires in less time than most of us could get a single lug nut off of our daily driver.
