Big Chief Crow vs Shane Blackbird Vega Who Crashes at Bristol!
Monday night, the stars of the hit Discovery Channel street racing show Street Outlaws put a whole new spin on the show when they loaded up and headed east to historic Thunder Valley Raceway in Bristol Tennessee for a huge no prep race. Joining the stars of the original show in competing for the $100,000 total purse were several stars of Street Outlaws New Orleans along with some of the biggest names in the world of no prep track racing.

En route to taking the win in the finals, OKC racemaster and perennial list contender Justin “Big Chief” Shearer had to face off with fellow 405 competitor Shane McAlary and his ProCharged Vega known as the Blackbird. As Chief pointed out on the show, running a guy like Shane, who has nothing to prove but plenty to gain is a scary proposition for a guy who feels like he has a real shot at taking home the big winner’s check. Shane has taken down some huge names over the past few years on the show and is a constant threat to make a killer pass. That puts the pressure on Shearer, who has a car that makes quite a bit more power, but also has more than enough to overpower the track, and one single slip of the tire against a car like the Blackbird would be all Shane needed to drive right by and take the win… In most cases anyway.
This go ‘round, that was not the case, as it was Shane that wound up overpowering the track and losing control of his hotrod. As Chief pulled away to take the win, Shane’s Vega crossed the centerline and smacked the left lane retaining wall, demolishing the front end of his car and spinning it back out onto the track. Fortunately, McAlary was uninjured in the crash, although he did take his time exiting the car, which caused some tension among those watching from the stands and the starting line.
We know Shane will be back up and running as quickly as he can get repairs made to his car, so look for him to be back very soon.
