BIRDMAN -vs- The MISTRESS – Tulsa Raceway Park
The Street Outlaws No Prep Kings show rolled into Tulsa Raceway Park for its season finale, the episode that will decide the season champion and wrap up the first season of the show. While the focus was on the top of the points sheet, where Ryan Martin and James Finney were locked in a near dead heat after duking it out all season, there was plenty of great racing going on elsewhere during eliminations and pre-race grudge callouts.
On his way to a thriller with Martin to decide the season points title, Birdman had to make his way through some pretty tough competition, including none other than Shawn Wilhoit in The Mistress, a nasty boosted first gen Camaro. Of course, Birdman’s infamous Trans Am is also powered by a twin turbo powerplant, so with all things being equal, this should be a great race on paper.
As expected, the pair delivered with a stellar side by side race, with Birdman pulling ahead by about a car to take the win. It looks like they left pretty close to even, and if there was an advantage and you can’t see it with the naked it, was it really much of a holeshot?
I’m not going to spoil the outcome of the season points chase for you guys since this episode hasn’t aired, but I will tell you it came down to the last race of the night and the race was decided literally by a matter of inches. All season long we’ve watched Fireball and Birdman mix it up, swapping races back and forth and generally putting on a killer show. The finale will be nothing but more of the same!
In the meantime, we’re going to be bringing you as many of the other passes from the race as we can get our hands on to show you all the action from the event, which featured some killer racing and big upsets. Look for more from the No Prep Kings season finale right here on Speed Society!
