BMW 240i Goes For Wild Airborne Ride On Famed Nürburgring

The Nürburgring is well known as a benchmark for professionals to try and go out there and lay down records. What a lot of people don’t know is that the track also acts as a public driving venue as well. We’re not sure which one this is, but with the car in question, our best guess would be the former.

One of the things that the track has become known for is its diversity of conditions. There aren’t too many other places in the world that one could go to get it all like this. In addition to high-speed sections, there is also a variety of challenging turns to conquer. If you thought to take your car to the drag strip was risky, just imagine throwing it around the curves of one of the most diverse tracks that the world has to offer.

In this one, we take a look at an incredibly insane crash from the ring. The subject here is a BMW 240 outfitted for racing. From the looks of things, the driver misjudged one of the corners and things escalated quickly. Before we know it, the car is careening off of a wall and flying through the air. Luckily, though, the driver is able to exit the machine after the airborne wreck. This is just another testament to modern safety equipment.

That Bimmer, on the other hand, isn’t going to be all that useful after this one. This dude certainly made the most of the crash and really wadded that thing up good.
