Boat Crash – Life Vest and Kill Switch Saves This Boaters Life

If you’re one of those people who just can’t seem to grasp the importance of safety equipment or thinks they’re too much of a badass to use it, maybe this video will shake some life into you.

When this gentleman, known to us as Greg, hit the water in his speed boat, cruising around at about 70 mph, he would soon learn that a simple life jacket and kill switch would be the things that would save his life.

When the boat would awkwardly go through the wake of another boat, the hull would touch down sideways, causing depletion of all momentum and a whiplash effect, tossing Greg overboard and spinning the boat around to the point where his head was dangerously close to the outboard’s propeller.

Thankfully, the kill switch had ceased the motor’s movement and Greg’s life jacket would keep him afloat for ten minutes, while he lay in the water, face up, but unconscious.

Check out the video below as the horrific crash is captured on video and shows us something that could have gone entirely different if it weren’t for the few small investments in safety.
