Boater Has Insane Close Call, Almost Goes Down in Jupiter Inlet

For those interested in getting behind the controls of a boat, it’s not always as simple as it looks. Sure, for the vast majority of a trip, it’ll probably be smooth sailing. If boaters can manage to stay away from other boats and shallow water, they’ll probably be alright. However, when out on the water, there are definitely situations that come to life that are tougher to deal with. This is why boaters should undergo a safety course before they decide to take their life in their own hands. Sometimes, even safety courses won’t prepare you for the most challenging of situations.

This time, we check in with a situation that’s a little bit more dangerous than your average boat ride. When traveling through an inlet, things can get a little bit dicey. As the area between an ocean and a smaller body of water, things can get a little bit hectic at an inlet.

This is an area where the water can get very choppy and the current will flow incredibly quickly. Therefore, it’s important to know what you’re doing in such a situation. Acting quickly is a must as well. One false move and the boat could definitely go under. Not only do you have to worry about the boat, though. All of its occupants could be swept out to sea and never seen again if there’s a misstep.

In this situation, we watch as the center console attempts to tackle the Jupiter Inlet in Florida. This inlet has become notorious for its quick-moving water that seems to give vessels quite the struggle. In this one, it appears as if the boater in question did not keep enough momentum. Before we know it, the vessel is taking on water from the front. Luckily, the captain was able to yank a quick U-turn and hightail it out of there. Otherwise, this one could’ve gotten pretty ugly in a hurry. – Jupiter FL Inlet webcam.
