Brutal CTS-V Rips a Quarter Mile Burnout, Goes 200+mph!
There are few cars that can compare to Cadillac’s CTS-V when it comes to the total package of appearance, power and luxury. What other car gives you the menacing-but-classy exterior, a cushy Caddy interior and a ridiculous 556 HP engine all in one package? Of course, we is almost always the case, there’s room for more, especially in the horsepower category. While most of us are content to bump the power with a cam, exhaust, and a smaller supercharger pulley, some enthusiasts take things a little farther.
The owner of his sinister black V decided to do away with the blown factory setup and dropped in a 1,600 horsepower Lynchmob Racing 427 CID LS with twin turbos and a great exhaust note! He took the car to WannaGoFast in Virginia to see what it would do through the half mile, and needless to say, the car did not disappoint. He knew it was time for new tires, but he decided to make a could of runs on the old ones anyway. The first pass things go smoothly, with the Caddy blasting through the Virginia countryside at 204 MPH.
The second run was a little more eventful, with the Caddy breaking traction around the midway point of the half mile strip and smoking the tires for several hundred feet. The Caddy still tripped the beams at 195 MPH despite the gnarly rolling burnout.
The V comes back for one last pass, this one keeping the tirespin in check and again clicking off 204 MPH, showing just how badass that Lynch built powerplant is. We would love to see this thing on those new tires to see if that was holding the car back, as the owner mentioned it has been 212 through the half mile, so he may have had it turned down to keep it planted, although he proved even at insane speeds, you can’t beat a good smoky rolling burnout.
